The MolSync service hosts a variety of chemical documents, each of which consists of molecules and other information such as activity data, literature references and higher order markup (e.g. chemical reactions). Searching by molecular structure is a way to locate these documents.
Before searching by structure, you need to provide the structure query. Click on the rectangular box in this panel to bring up the sketcher. You can draw a molecule with the tools provided, or use drag'n'drop, or paste from the clipboard (Ctrl/Cmd-V).
Once you have provided a structure, you need to select from the three different types of searches:
Press the search button to start. Results will be shown as they become available. When a molecule occurs in more than one document, these will be collated into the same search record. Sometimes the same molecule is drawn in several different ways, so you may see more than one drawing.
